I lead our KCRG-TV9 i9 Investigative
Team, while turning dayturn stories four to five days a week. Those stories help us develop sources across different beats.
Then, we use those connections to gather data and documents through open record requests.
This allows our station to add more depth to stories on a daily basis. And integrate our investigative brand more often into our coverage.
Once a week, occasionally, I have a
day to work on a story without the pressure of a deadline. It creates an opportunity to generate watchdog reporting. We publish at least one investigative story every week.
